Conny's Story
And the History of Horsehaven Farmstay

30 years ago I fell in love with the Huon Valley.
Born in Germany, I came here as a young woman full of ideals. I started gardening and horseback riding as a young child, so coming to Australia my aim was to become as self-sufficient as possible; grow my own food and live a healthy, peaceful life with horses.

My main passions have always been horses, gardening, cooking and
.................... creating ................... a beautiful life.
My dream was to earn a living on my land, and share this "Garden of Eden,"
as well as my skills and knowledge about
simple healthy living, and horses.
And thus, Horsehaven Farmstay was born.
A little country retreat…
to rejuvenate, be spoiled and have the fun of a life-time.

My
Family

I started my family, bought land, and the farm life began.
On our 10 acre farm, we planted hundreds and hundreds of trees, established large organic gardens, and raised 3 beautiful and healthy children on the land. We had a house cow, bee hives, chickens and later, milking goats.
As my children grew the horse breeding began. In all those years I went to the local markets, selling my organically grown produce and homemade goodies.

but we make a life by what we give."
- Sir Winston Churchill
